Water Supply

The Centre for Land and Water holds a consent to take water for irrigation.  The supply is a 100mm artesian bore with positive head. As with other Heretaunga Plains aquifer sources, the water quality is very high.

The resource consent limits flow rates to 4.8 L/s and 1,046 m3 in any seven day period. This is sufficient to meet our demands in all but exceptional circumstances. The flow rate is lower than the lowest rate requiring water measurement under the National Environmental Standard for Fresh Water Measurement.

When ThinkWater and Netafim installed buried drip into Block 2, we permanently pressurised the mainline system. Now we have the Drumpeel linear, pressurised hydrants make changeover much easier.
