2013 Base-line

Base-line soil samples for nutrient testing were collected by Mark Redshaw from each of the six MicroFarm Blocks in June 2013. 20+ 150mm cores were taken in each block and a sample sent to Hill Laboratories.

In general, soil nutrient levels are close to optimum for peas, the first crops we intend to grow. However sulphate-sulphur levels were very low, and supplementary fertilisers are recommended.
