The MicroFarm hosts a Plant and Food research tier 2 weather station. The data is downloaded daily by HortPlus and presented as charts here>
HortPlus has a range of tools and services to support primary industries, notably the fruit and viticulture sectors. They have been long term LandWISE supporters collaborating to deliver weather forecasts to Canterbury arable growers, and working on other weather related projects.
Spray Plan Manager is a free tool that lets you collate all your property information and generate a GIS (electronic) map.
Crop-IR-log is an irrigation scheduling tool built with Plant & Food Research and others to aid fruit growers.
Spray Drift Forecast is designed to advise the New Zealand agriculture community of the optimum conditions to apply pesticides and other agrochemicals.
The Soil Moisture data is from an neutron probe sensor. It is buried 10 – 30 cm deep – the topsoil profile on-site. Our thanks to Aqualinc for providing the sensor and monitoring service to the MicroFarm.
